Adam Brooks signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday. It has an average annual value of $725,000 at the NHL level.
The 24-year-old forward was in the final season of a three-year, entry-level contract and could have become a restricted free agent after the season.
A fourth-round pick (No. 92) of Toronto in the 2016 NHL Draft, Brooks made his NHL debut Dec. 28 and had three assists in seven games with the Maple Leafs. He also had 20 points (nine goals, 11 assists) in 29 games with Toronto of the American Hockey League.
