TJ Brodie has been released from a hospital after the Calgary Flames defenseman was taken off the ice during practice at Scotiabank Saddledome on Thursday.
"TJ Brodie experienced an episode on-ice at practice today in Calgary," the Flames said in a statement. "Following tests conducted at a local hospital, TJ has been discharged and is doing well in recovery at home with his family."
The 29-year-old collapsed during a drill, started convulsing, was removed on a stretcher, and was awake on the way to the hospital, according to reports.
Flames general manager Brad Treliving will provide an update Friday.
Brodie has eight assists in 21 games this season for the Flames (10-8-3), who play the Arizona Coyotes at Gila River Arena on Saturday (4 p.m. ET. FS-A, FS-A PLUS, SNF, NHL.TV).
