Kerfoot, who joined the Maple Leafs via the July 1 trade that sent Nazem Kadri to the Colorado Avalanche, is coming off a 15-goal, 42-point effort in 2018-19. He posted 19 goals and 43 points for Colorado in his rookie season one year prior.
The 24-year-old was originally drafted 150th overall by Colorado back in 2012, after which he enjoyed a successful college career with Harvard University, posting 45 points in 36 games during his final year with the club.
A restricted free agent this off-season, Kerfoot's new deal makes him the fourth-highest paid forward on the Leafs' roster for the time being — while restricted free agent Mitch Marner remains unsigned — slotting in just above recently signed Andreas Johnsson ($3.4 million per year) and Kasperi Kapanen ($3.2 million per year).
