{allcanada} Maple Leafs’ Patrick Marleau selling Toronto house for $11.888M

The home of Toronto Maple Leafs forward Patrick Marleau has been put on the market, the Toronto Star reports, adding more fuel to reports the veteran forward and the team are ready to part ways.

Listed at a whopping $11.888 million, the house features five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, eight fireplaces, a 13-car garage, a hockey room, a pool and backs onto a ravine. The listing also includes a picture of Marleau's epic backyard hockey rink.

Marleau has spent the last two seasons with the Maple Leafs after signing a three-year, $18.75-million deal with the team in July 2017. However, the 39-year-old's time in Toronto could end earlier than his current deal after Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos reported on June 1 that Marleau is eyeing a return to the Western Conference.

"It sounds like Marleau and the Leafs are set to part ways," said Nick Kypreos during the 'Headlines' segment of Hockey Night in Canada last Saturday. "The family is going to move back to San Jose. Patrick Marleau has made it clear to the Toronto Maple Leafs that he'd like to get closer to his family once again, which means moving to the west coast area."

"Some of the teams that are in the mix – I'm told – are Arizona, Colorado [and] the Los Angeles Kings," Kypreos continued. "Now everybody's wondering 'why the Los Angeles Kings?' … There'd be no question that a type of deal that would have to involve taking on that contract would be, maybe, taking on a current roster player that the Leafs would have to give up, and maybe even retaining as much as maybe $1.5, $2 million."

In 164 regular-season games for the Leafs, Marleau has 43 goals and 84 points, adding four goals and seven points in 14 post-season contests for Toronto.
