The Vancouver Canucks and defenceman Alex Edler are close to agreeing on a three-year contract extension.
According to Sportsnet's Irfan Gaffar, the average annual value of Edler's new deal is expected to be between $5 million and $5.5 million.
Edler, 33, has spent the entirety of his NHL career with the Canucks. He accumulated 10 goals and 24 assists in 56 games with Vancouver this past season.
