The Montreal Canadiens have agreed to a one-year, two-way contract extension with defenceman Xavier Ouellet.
The contract will pay Ouellet $700,000 at the NHL level.
Ouellet, 25, appeared in 19 games with the Canadiens last season, recording three assists. He was named captain of AHL Laval in February, and had seven goals and 28 point in 47 AHL games.
