NEW YORK - New York Rangers forward Chris Kreider has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for elbowing Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson during NHL Game No. 1082 in Vancouver on Wednesday, March 13, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 4:18 of the second period. Kreider was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for elbowing.
The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
