{allcanada} OHL Roundup: IceDogs dominate Frontenacs for eighth straight win

 

KINGSTON, Ont. — Jason Robertson scored twice and had a pair of assists as the Niagara IceDogs dominated the Kingston Frontenacs 5-1 on Friday for their eighth straight win in Ontario Hockey League play.

Oliver Castleman, Jack Studnicka and Kirill Maksimov also scored for the IceDogs (32-10-7).

Nick Wong had the only goal for the Frontenacs (12-37-1).

Christian Sbaraglia turned aside 18 shots for Niagara. Marshall Frappier combined with Brendan Bonello for 31 saves for Kingston.

The Frontenacs went 1 for 3 on the power play. The IceDogs were 3 for 5 with the man advantage.

GREYHOUNDS 4 OTTERS 1

ERIE, Pa. — Barrett Hayton had a goal and an assist as Sault Ste. Marie topped Erie.

Cole MacKay, Alex Johnston and Morgan Frost also got on the scoresheet for the Greyhounds (32-11-6). Brendan Sellan was the lone player from the Otters (19-27-2) to find the back of the net.

Ethan Taylor kicked out 24 shots for Sault Ste. Marie. Daniel Murphy blocked 27 shots for Erie.

SPIRIT 4 FIREBIRDS 2

FLINT, Mich., — Camaryn Baber had a goal and an assist Saginaw doubled up Flint.

DJ Busdeker, Cole Perfetti, Justin Murray and Camaryn Baber also scored for the Spirit (31-14-4). Ethan Keppen and Jack Wismer provided the offence for the Firebirds (9-39-3).

Ivan Prosvetov denied 33 shots for Saginaw. Luke Cavallin turned aside 29 shots for Flint.

STEELHEADS 6 BATTALION 3

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Alan Lyszczarczyk scored twice as Mississauga downed North Bay.

Adam Varga, Nick Isaacson, Cole Schwindt and Keean Washkurak rounded out the scoring for the Steelheads (23-20-6). Justin Brazeau, Mitchell Russell and Matthew Struthers replied for the Battalion (23-24-3).

Jacob Ingham turned aside 26 shots for Mississauga. Christian Propp kicked out 41 shots for North Bay.

67'S 4 STORM 3 (OT)

OTTAWA — Kyle Maksimovich scored on the power play at 4:09 of overtime and had an assist in regulation as Ottawa edged Guelph to extend its win streak to seven games.

Mitchell Hoelscher, Marco Rossi and Noel Hoefenmayer also got on the board the 67's (37-9-4). Keegan Stevenson paced the Storm (26-13-10) with two goals, while Nick Suzuki had a single.

Michael DiPietro stopped 30 shots for Ottawa. Anthony Popovich kicked out 38 shots for Guelph.

WOLVES 4 SPITFIRES 1

SUDBURY, Ont. — Shane Bulitka had a goal and an assist as Sudbury defeated Windsor to capture its fourth straight win.

Darian Pilon, Quinton Byfield and Nolan Hutcheson rounded out the scoring for the Wolves (29-16-3). Tyler Angle netted a goal for the Spitfires (21-27-3).

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen denied 22 shots for Sudbury. Kari Piiroinen turned aside 42 shots for Windsor.

RANGERS 6 ATTACK 1

KITCHENER, Ont. — Rickard Hugg scored a hat trick as Kitchener toppled Owen Sound for its third win in a row.

Isaac Langdon, Riley Damiani and Joseph Garreffa also scored for the Rangers (23-22-3). Adam McMaster had the lone goal for the Attack (23-22-4).

Luke Richardson stopped 34 shots for Kitchener. Andrew MacLean turned aside 25 shots for Owen Sound.

KNIGHTS 3 COLTS 2 (SO)

LONDON, Ont. — Connor McMichael scored the lone goal of the shootout and had another in regulation as London edged Barrie.

Kevin Hancock also scored for the Knights (35-7-6). Jacob Tortora and Jason Willms replied for the Colts (20-25-3).

Joseph Raaymakers kicked out 24 shots for London. Jet Greaves turned away 50 shots for Barrie.

GENERALS 12 PETES 6

OSHAWA, Ont. — Brett Neumann scored twice and had a pair of assists as Oshawa thumped Peterborough.

Allan McShane also had a pair of goals, while Brandon Saigeon, Mitchell Brewer, Kyle MacLean, Tyler Tullio, Dylan Robinson, Nando Eggenberger, Danil Antropov and Anthony Salinitri had singles for the Generals (29-18-2). Chad Denault, Liam Kirk, Semyon Der-Arguchintsev, Adam Timleck, Zach Gallant and Nick Robertson responded for the Petes (24-23-2).

Aidan Hughes combined with Kyle Keyser for 31 saves for Oshawa. Tye Austin turned away 34 shots for Peterborough.

The Petes' Max Grondin was given a match penalty for cross checking at 6:37 of the third period, while Matt McNamara was ejected for his second fight.

The Generals' Kyle Bollers received a pair of game misconducts for third-man in and second-fight violations at 6:37 of the third period.

The Petes' Michael Little was ejected for a fight in the final five minutes of regulation at 15:33 of the third period.
