Not strange at all, I expect certain levels of performance, one being a feeling of 'naturalness'.
Afraid you put me off straight away by mentioning Elvis, I own nothing of his and would not choose to listen to anything by him. Add to that, at the moment I'm spending much of my time doing quad decodes for someone, plus I've still to deal with the one album left for the blog closure (which is, by the way, related to this forum from many years ago) so the time left is used to listen to what i enjoy (Chicago II on at the moment).
But thanks for the offer, best we just agree to disagree.... Personal choice and all that....

What I miss a bit is that you made a for you excellent upmix of Chicago but obviously refuse to think that others might have made excellent upmixes too.
I find that a bit strange....
Can I persuade you to listen to DVD 1 of my upmixes of the masters of Elvis and give your opinion ? A very large part is mono to 5.1 with a very fine sound field and had hundreds of positive reviews especially for the quality of the sound.
"Never heard Elvis better !"
In general I prefer an upmix when it sounds better on my 5.1 system than the stereo does. Front speakers at -+ 30 degrees are not ideal for stereo records and I am too lazy to move those speakers around with every album I listen to ;-)
Best wishes,
EoH
