{allcanada} OHL: Kaliyev stars in overtime as Bulldogs edge IceDogs

 

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — Arthur Kaliyev's power-play goal in overtime lifted the Hamilton Bulldogs over the Niagara IceDogs 5-4 on Thursday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Ryan Moore, Brandon Saigeon, Kade Landry and MacKenzie Entwistle also scored for the Bulldogs (39-16-6). Kaden Fulcher made 30 saves for the win.

Ben Jones, Akil Thomas, Sam Miletic and Kirill Maksimov scored for the IceDogs (28-22-10), while Colton Incze turned away 37 shots.

Hamilton went 2 for 4 on the power play and Niagara was 3 for 4 with the man advantage.

ATTACK 4 OTTERS 0

ERIE, Pa. — Olivier Lafreniere stopped all 21 shots he faced as Owen Sound blanked the Otters.

Brady Lyle out away the eventual winner for the Attack (32-21-7) on a power play 7:40 into the second period. Jonah Gadjovich, Ethan Szypula and Mitchell Russell also scored for Owen Sound.

Daniel Murphy turned away 37 shots for Erie (20-31-10). The Otters's Kyle Maksimovich was given a match penalty for a slew footing six minutes into the second period.

67'S 4 BATTALION 2

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Sasha Chmelevski scored twice as Ottawa doubled the Battalion.

Jacob Cascagnette scored the power-play winner for the 67's (28-24-8) at 18:49 of the second period. Travis Barron added a single of his own.

Adam Thilander and Justin Brazeau replied for North Bay (27-25-9).

Ottawa's Nikita Okhotyuk was given a major and game misconduct for checking to the head at 13:23 of the second period.

KNIGHTS 4 PETES 3

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — Alex Formenton's goal late in the third period lifted London over the Petes.

Liam Foudy, Sergey Popov and Nathan Dunkley also scored for the Knights (33-23-4).

Logan DeNoble struck twice for Peterborough (22-32-6), while Bobby Dow also found the back of the net.

WOLVES 4 SPITFIRES 3

WINDSOR, Ont. — Drake Pilon scored twice as Sudbury downed the Spitfires.

Nolan Hutcheson scored the game-winning goal for the Wolves (15-37-8) at 12:23 of the third period. Liam Ross also scored for Sudbury.

Mathew MacDougall, Curtis Douglas and Luke Kutkevicius responded for Windsor (28-27-5).
