Goaltender Cam Talbot was activated from injured reserve by the Edmonton Oilers on Friday.
Talbot, 30, is 10-10-1 with a 3.00 goals-against average, a .903 save percentage and one shutout in 22 appearances for the Oilers this season. He was placed on injured reserve with an upper-body injury on Nov. 30.
Talbot is 106-74-19 with a 2.39 GAA, a .920 SV% and 19 shutouts in 208 NHL games. He led the League in games played (73), minutes played (4,294) and saves (1,946) last season, and tied Braden Holtby of the Washington Capitals for the League lead with 42 wins.
The Oilers returned goaltender Nick Ellis to Bakersfield of the American Hockey League.
Edmonton plays at the Minnesota Wild on Saturday (2 p.m. ET; FS-N, SNW, NHL.TV).
