Vancouver Canucks center Bo Horvat will miss up to six weeks with a fractured foot.
Horvat, 22, was injured with 11:10 remaining in the third period of the Canucks' 3-0 win against the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday. The Canucks said Thursday that a firmer timeline will be available after he is seen by a specialist.
Horvat has 20 points (10 goals, 10 assists) in 28 games this season. He is Vancouver's second-leading scorer behind rookie forward Brock Boeser (25 points).
The No. 9 pick in the 2013 NHL Draft, Horvat has 137 points (59 goals, 78 assists) in 259 League games, all with the Canucks.
Vancouver recalled forward Michael Chaput and goaltender Thatcher Demko from Utica of the American Hockey League on Wednesday.
Chaput, 25, has 15 points (eight goals, seven assists) in 20 AHL games this season. He has 17 points (six goals, 11 assists) in 126 NHL games with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Canucks.
Demko, 21, is 8-5-1 with a 2.50 goals-against average and .920 save percentage in 15 games with Utica this season.
