{allcanada} Leafs’ James van Riemsdyk a game-time decision vs. Hurricanes

The Toronto Maple Leafs have listed James van Riemsdyk as a game-time decision ahead of Thursday's matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The 28-year-old forward went down awkwardly during a play against the Los Angeles Kings Monday night after taking a hit along the boards. He was slow to get up, and appeared to favour his right leg when he did. He left the ice but did return.

He sat out Wednesday's practice, but skated with the team Thursday morning. If he plays Thursday, he'll be taking on his younger brother, Trevor van Riemsdyk, who was recently activated off Carolina's injured reserve following a concussion.

If van Riemsdyk doesn't play, forward Josh Leivo will skate in his place. Leivo has yet to suit up this season after playing 13 games (two goals, 10 points) with the big club in 2016-17.

Van Riemsdyk has five goals and four assists for nine points in nine games so far this season.
