NEW YORK -- Ottawa Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson did not return for the third period of Game 4 against the New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference Second Round at Madison Square Garden.
Karlsson played 14:54 through two periods; the Senators trailed 3-0.&
The Senators captain seemed to be injured in collisions with Rangers forwards Chris Kreider and J.T. Miller in the second period.
Karlsson has been playing with two hairline fractures in his left heel. He did not practice Monday but has not missed any games in the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Senators pulled goalie Craig Anderson after two periods. Mike Condon started the third. Anderson made 17 saves on 20 shots in two periods.
Game 5 is at Ottawa on Saturday. The Senators led the best-of-7 series 2-1.
