Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Wednesday for spearing San Jose Sharks forward Chris Tierney.
The incident occurred at 13:44 of the second period in Game 4 of the Western Conference First Round at SAP Center on Tuesday. Draisaitl received a five-minute major for spearing and a game misconduct.
The Sharks defeated the Oilers 7-0.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: spearing. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
