{allcanada} Lady Byng Trophy finalists unveiled

Forwards Johnny Gaudreau of the Calgary Flames, Mikael Granlund of the Minnesota Wild and Vladimir Tarasenko of the St. Louis Blues were named finalists for the Lady Byng Trophy on Sunday, awarded annually to the player who best combines sportsmanship, gentlemanly conduct and ability.

The winner will be announced at the 2017 NHL Awards at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on June 21 (7:30 p.m. ET; NBCSN, SN).

Gaudreau, 23, is a first-time finalist after finishing fourth in voting last season. Gaudreau averaged 18:29 of ice time in 72 games and was assessed two minor penalties. He played his final 16 games without being called for a penalty, during which he had 17 points (five goals, 12 assists). Gaudreau led the Flames with 61 points (18 goals, 43 assists).

Granlund, 25, led the Wild with 69 points (26 goals, 43 assists), averaged 18:49 of ice time in 81 games and had 12 penalty minutes. The first-time finalist went 27 games between Jan. 5 and March 5 without being called for a penalty, during which he had 30 points (11 goals, 19 assists).

Tarasenko, who is a finalist for an NHL award for the first time, finished in the top 10 in the NHL in goals (39, tied for fourth) and points (75, 10th). The 25-year-old had 12 penalty minutes in 82 games. He averaged 18:54 of ice time in 82 games and was assessed one minor penalty in his final 31 games of the season, during which he had 25 points (16 goals, nine assists).
