SHARKS (30-16-2) at JETS (22-24-4)

Sharks team scope
The San Jose Sharks will look to extend their season-high win streak to six games, but will be without forward Joonas Donskoi, who left in the second period of a 5-2 win against the Colorado Avalanche on Monday because of an undisclosed injury. The Sharks also traded forward Tommy Wingels to the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday for forwards Buddy Robinson and Zach Stortini, plus a seventh-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft. Patrick Marleau scored four third-period goals Monday, the first NHL player score four goals in a period since the Pittsburgh Penguins' Mario Lemieux on Jan. 26, 1997. "He [Marleau] is a huge piece for us," coach Peter DeBoer said. "He gets overlooked sometimes because of the other names and characters that we have. But he quietly goes about his business and the guys in the room know how important he is. I think that's the ultimate respect." Aaron Dell is expected to get the start in goal.
Jets team scope
Winnipeg Jets forward Patrik Laine could make his return. Laine has practiced without restriction the past three days but did not play in the 3-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Monday. Coach Paul Maurice called Laine an option for Tuesday. Laine has missed eight games with a concussion sustained on a hit by Buffalo Sabres defenseman Jake McCabe in a 4-3 loss Jan. 7. The 18-year-old has 21 goals and 37 points, two behind NHL rookie scoring leader Mitchell Marner of the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Jets will be without forward Mathieu Perreault, who left the game Monday in the first period because of an upper-body injury. The Jets are 4-2-2 in the second game of back to backs. "Take the good things from [Monday], forget about the game and just move on and get ready for [Tuesday]," forward Nikolaj Ehlers said Monday.
