SENATORS (15-9-2) at SHARKS (15-9-1)

10:30 p.m. ET; RDS, TSN5, CSN-CA, NHL.TV

Senators team scope

Ottawa Senators right wing Bobby Ryan will return to the lineup after missing three games with a hand injury. He'll rejoin center Kyle Turris and forward Ryan Dzingel on the second line. Ryan said he felt like he turned a corner in his recovery Monday after resting his hand for four or five days. "We wanted to just let it calm down so we could get to where we are now to contribute," Ryan said after an optional skate. "Probably not 100 percent, but at least get out and get ready to be in battles." Jean-Gabriel Pageau, who filled in for Ryan on the second line, returns to the third line between Zack Smith and Tom Pyatt. "It gives us our true first lines," coach Guy Boucher said of Ryan's return. "Bring some consistency and chemistry to those two lines. It also gives us back that line that was really good for us with Pyatt, Pageau and Smith." Goalie Mike Condon will make his sixth start in place of Craig Anderson, who returned to Ottawa on Tuesday to be with his wife, who is having cancer treatment. Anderson allowed seven goals on 43 shots in an 8-5 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday. Condon is 3-1-1 with a 1.73 goals-against average and .943 save percentage since coming to Ottawa in a trade with the Penguins on Nov. 2. "It was pretty impressive that [Anderson] wanted to come to Pittsburgh and wanted to play that game, but it's also understandable that he has to go back," Boucher said. "He has to be close to his wife and the rest of the family. ... Condon has given us a chance to win in every game that he's been in. That's all we ask for."

Sharks team scope

San Jose Sharks center Logan Couture will remain in the lineup despite having a minor procedure to remove a screw from his right ankle Saturday. Couture still has five screws from the surgery he had to repair the broken bone in October 2015. The surgical screw that was removed was irritating him since mid-November. "It feels all right," said Couture, who was on the ice briefly for an optional skate. "I'll talk to the trainers now and figure out how to make it feel a little bit better game time, but I'll be good." Defenseman David Schlemko (lower body) is day to day and will miss the game. He was injured during a 2-1 win against the Montreal Canadiens on Friday but returned for a few shifts in the third period. Dylan DeMelo will replace Schlemko and skate with Brenden Dillon. The Sharks had four days without a game and did not practice on Saturday or Sunday. Coach Peter DeBoer said the rest was needed after playing 10 games in 18 days. "When you're rolling like that you sometimes don't want to stop, but I think the reality though ... was we were running on fumes toward the end. I know we're recharged mentally and physically but we've got to find that level again as quickly as possible, and hopefully it doesn't take too long tonight."
