Penguins team scope
Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Trevor Daley left a 1-0 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Kings because of a lower-body injury, and was limited to 12:24 of ice time. "He's being evaluated," coach Mike Sullivan said after the game. "I haven't gotten an update." It was the second time this season the Penguins were shutout. "There were some (shots) that were very high quality and there were others that were perimeter," Sullivan said. "But I like the fact that we're looking to put the puck to the net and go to the net. Certainly, we're looking to get pucks to the net to try to create that next play opportunity. It would have been nice if we got to a few more of those but we certainly had our chances." The Penguins are 7-5-2 on the road, having won two straight away from home.
Maple Leafs team scope
The Toronto Maple Leafs will play their fourth game of a five game homestand; They are 0-1-2 so far. In their first game against the Penguins this season on Nov. 12, Pittsburgh defeated Toronto 4-1. "I caught Sid (Crosby) stopping on defense, I caught Sid competing in his own zone, I caught Geno (Malkin) doing the same thing so I'm showing my guys them doing it right because that's how you win championships," coach Mike Babcock said. "You do things right and you do them over and over again and when the best players on your team have elite drive-train, everybody else falls in line. So when I watch their group, I like their group. I think they play well, I think they're organized, they've got a plan and their best players play." The Maple Leafs are 8-5-2 at Air Canada Centre. Goalie Frederik Andersen will make his third consecutive start in net.
