FLAMES (13-13-2) at STARS (10-10-6)

8:30 p.m. ET; FS-SW, SNF, NHL.TV

Flames team scope

Chad Johnson will make his fourth straight start for the Calgary Flames. He's 8-2-0 in his past 10 starts allowing 17 goals, and has won three straight games. "I've found some comfort and the guys have put a lot of trust in me," Johnson said. "It's all come together, everyone asks what it is. I think it's just that I'm playing more and that comes with more confidence." Johnny Gaudreau returned to the lineup and had a goal and an assist in an 8-3 win against the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday. Gaudreau had missed 10 games after he fractured a finger on Nov. 15 against the Minnesota Wild, but found quick chemistry with Sam Bennett and Alex Chiasson. "I thought we did some good things together," Gaudreau said. "We were smart in the defensive zone, made some plays in the offensive zone and we looked good together … hopefully we can keep this thing rolling." Coach Glen Gulutzan returns to Dallas for the first time as a head coach. Gulutzan coached the Stars for two seasons (2011-13) and missed the playoffs each season. "It feels better now," Gulutzan said. "I used to come here (as an assistant) after I first got let go from Dallas, it was tougher. You feel like you could've did better. But now coming back, it's been awhile, and now it doesn't feel a lot different."

Stars team scope

The Dallas Stars return home after a disappointing 1-2-1 road trip and have 10 of their next 13 games at American Airlines Center. "This is a month that when the schedule came out that we knew it would be a good opportunity," Jason Spezza said. "Now it's a chance where we have to win some games and take advantage." The Stars are expected to use the same lineup after a 3-0 win against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday. Julius Honka will play in his eighth straight game since getting called up. Honka, 21, has three assists and has played on the power play. "When the games go by my confidence goes up, I just want to build on that," Honka said. "I think my game is going in the right direction, I think the power play is part of my game and chances like that made this easier." Tyler Seguin is on a four-game point streak and has scored in back-to-back games after an 11-game goal drought. "That looked like the old Tyler Seguin," coach Lindy Ruff said. "I thought he was our best player on the ice in Colorado. Had the puck a lot, generated a lot of opportunities for himself and did good things away from the puck." Kari Lehtonen will start after making 23 saves against Colorado. Jamie Benn needs one goal for 200 in his career.
