{allcanada} Canucks recall goaltender Thatcher Demko from AHL

The Vancouver Canucks have recalled goaltender Thatcher Demko from the AHL's Utica Comets.

The move came on Friday, a day after Canucks goaltender Ryan Miller was forced to leave a game against the Tampa Bay Lightning with a suspected lower-body injury.

Demko, a native of San Diego, Calif., was selected by the Canucks in the second round of the 2014 NHL Draft and was the winner of the Mike Richter Award as the NCAA's most outstanding goaltender this past April with Boston College.

The 21-year-old has a 7-4-1 record with a 2.47 goals against average and .914 save percentage in 13 AHL games this season.
