GATINEAU, Que. — Matthew Thorpe's first goal of the season was very timely.
Thorpe scored with 29 seconds left to play as the Gatineau Olympiques upset the Shawinigan Cataractes 4-3 on Wednesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.
Austin Eastman and Yakov Trenin built a 2-0 lead for Gatineau (6-11-2) by the first intermission, while Daniel Del Paggio made it 3-1 at the 16:17 mark of the second. Mark Grametbauer made 22 saves in net for the win.
Brandon Gignac and Alexis D'Aoust had back-to-back goals to open up the third period and tie it 3-3 as Shawinigan (13-5-0) lost its third game in a row. Samuel Guilbault scored in the second period. Mikhail Denisov stopped 26 shots for the Cataractes.
The Olympiques were 2 for 6 on the power play and Shawinigan went 1 for 4 with the man advantage.

ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. — Jonathan Aspirot scored the winner late in the third period as Moncton slipped past the Huskies.
Cameron Askew had a pair of goals for the Wildcats (7-12-0), while Lane Cormier opened scoring in the first period.
Felix Bibeau, Martins Dzierkals and Gabriel Fontaine responded for Rouyn-Noranda (13-4-2).

QUEBEC CITY — Olivier Garneau and Philipp Kurashev had two goals apiece as the Remparts powered past Acadie-Bathurst.
Darien Kielb and Ross MacDougall chipped in as Quebec (11-7-2) reeled off five unanswered goals.
Christophe Boivin and Luc Deschenes gave the Titan (8-9-2) a 2-0 lead by the first intermission and Dawson Theede also scored.

DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. — James Phelan had a hat trick, including two short-handed goals and another on the power play, as Victoriaville routed the Voltigeurs.
Felix Meunier struck twice for the Tigres (10-9-2), while Felix Lauzon, Maxime Comtois and Bradley Lalonde also scored.
Joey Ratelle and Matthew Newbury both replied on the power play for Drummondville (8-9-2).

RIMOUSKI, Que. — Pierre-Luc Dubois had the winner and added two assists to power Cape Breton past the Oceanic.
Vasily Glotov and Phelix Martineau also scored in the third period for the Screaming Eagles (10-9-1). Tyler Hylland, Giovanni Fiore and Massimo Carozza had a goal each in the second.
Samuel Laberge, Hunter Moreau and Tyler Boland supplied the offence for Rimouski (9-10-1).
