DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. — Jake Smith was the lone scorer in the shootout as the Chicoutimi Sagueneens edged the Drummondville Voltigeurs 5-4 on Sunday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.
Smith also scored in regulation time for Chicoutimi (13-9-1). Dmitry Zhukenov, Vincent Tremblay-Lapalme and Julien Carignan-Labbe also had second-period goals as the Sagueneens built a 4-2 lead by the second intermission.
Pavel Koltygin had back-to-back goals to tie it 4-4 for Drummondville (10-13-3) and force overtime. Joey Ratelle and Noah Corson also found the back of the net.
Sagueneens goalie Julio Billia made 24 saves and turned away three skaters in the shootout for the win. Olivier Rodrigue stopped 23 shots for the Voltigeurs, who extended their winless streak to four games.
Chicoutimi was 1 for 3 on the power play and Drummondville went 1 for 2 on the man advantage.

SYDNEY, N.S. — Adam McCormick scored the winner in a three-goal second period for the Screaming Eagles as they toppled Shawinigan.
Yannik Bertrand, Olivier LeBlanc, Marcus Tesink, Giovanni Fiore and Massimo Carozza supplied the rest of the offence for Cape Breton (13-12-2). Kyle Jessiman made 25 saves.
Samuel Guilbault and Alexis D'Aoust had goals for the Cataractes (17-7-1), who had gone 4-0-1 in their previous five games. Mikhail Denisov took the loss after turning aside 4-of-8 shots in 27:33. Zachary Bouthillier stopped 14 shots in relief.

HALIFAX — Nico Hischier scored twice and Alexis Gravel stopped all 22 shots he faced as the Mooseheads shut out Moncton.
Benoit-Olivier Groulx added insurance on the power play for Halifax (14-11-1).
Alec MacDonald turned away 40-of-43 shots for the Wildcats (9-17-0).
Moncton's Manuel Wiederer received a major penalty and game misconduct for charging in the third period. Wiederer also received a roughing minor in the same stoppage.

RIMOUSKI, Que. — Evan MacKinnon, Antoine Waked and Alexandre Fortin all scored in the first period to lead Rouyn-Noranda past the Oceanic.
Charles-Antoine Poirier-Turcot made 32 saves for the Huskies (17-6-3).
Hunter Moreau had the only Rimouski (12-13-1) goal late in the first, with Alexandre Lagace stopping 21 shots.

SHERBROOKE, Que. — Julien Pelletier struck twice as the Phoenix downed Val-d'Or.
Julien Bahl's goal 3:25 into the third was the eventual winner as Sherbrooke (10-13-3) snapped a four-game losing skid. Jason Imbeault, Yaroslav Alexeyev and Patrice Demuy also scored for the Phoenix, as Justin Blanchette kicked out 35 shots.
Francois Beauchemin, Adam Marsh, Alexis Pepin, Mathieu Nadeau and Jason Bell responded for the Foreurs (13-13-2). Dereck Baribeau made 32 saves for Val-d'Or.

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — Jordan Maher had the power-play winner in overtime to lift Acadie-Bathurst over the Tigres.
Rodrigo Abols had a hat trick in regulation time for the Titan (12-13-2), while Dawson Theede added a pair of goals. Daniil Miromanov chipped in as well. Simon Boudreault-Belzile made 29 saves for the win.
James Phelan and Ivan Kosorenkov each had a hat trick for Victoriaville (13-11-3). Goalie Tristan Cote-Cazenave started for the Tigres, stopping 7-of-11 shots after 23:48 of work. He was chased from net by Abols's third goal, being replaced by James Povall, who turned aside 19-of-22 shots.
