{allcanada} HBO to profile 'Hockey Night in Canada Punjabi'

"Hockey Night in Canada Punjabi," the broadcasting team created by the Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC) to appeal to 500,000 Canadians who hail from the northern Indian state of Punjab, will be showcased on "HBO Real Sports" at 10 p.m. ET on Tuesday.

Play-by-play announcer Harnarayan Singh and his crew became famous for their call of Pittsburgh Penguins forward Nick Bonino's game-winning goal against the San Jose Sharks in Game 1 of the 2016 Stanley Cup Final on OMNI Television's Punjabi-language broadcast. Singh's call of "Bonino, Bonino, Bonino," which originated when Bonino scored the game-winner to eliminate the Washington Capitals in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Second Round, spread virally across the Internet. He and his team call the CBC's game of the week every Saturday in their native language.

"Regardless of which teams are playing, we want Saturday night with us to be a fun place where you can be," hockey analyst Bhupinder Hundal told Real Sports correspondent Andrea Kremer. "Whether you understand Punjabi or not, or whether you like hockey or not, it really doesn't matter."
