{allcanada} Grabner, Lundqvist leads Rangers to 4-1 win over Flames

 

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) Michael Grabner and Derek Stepan scored in the first period, Henrik Lundqvist stopped 35 shots, and the New York Rangers beat the Calgary Flames 4-1 Saturday night.

Jimmy Vesey and Pavel Buchnevich also scored for New York, which has won six of seven.

Micheal Ferland spoiled Lundqvist's shutout bid with 8:48 remaining and Brian Elliott finished with 24 saves for Calgary, which has lost four straight and six of seven.

Grabner, who signed with the Rangers in the offseason, has a team-high eight goals in 15 games - just one fewer than his total in 80 games with Toronto last year. Buchnevich scored for the fourth straight game.
