Emmy nominee Molly Parker (House Of Cards) has signed to star in the indie feature tentatively titled Movie No. 1, joining Miranda July and newcomer Helena Howard. The pic is filming in New York City.
Krista Parris and Elizabeth Rao are producing, with Amenya Makuku, Allison Rose Carter and Jon Read co-producing. Michael Sherman and Matthew Perniciaro of Bow and Arrow Entertainment and Michael Decker will executive produce. Paradigm is repping the movie.
Nominated this year for a guest actress Emmy for playing House Whip Jackie Sharpe on Netflix's House Of Cards, Parker next will be seen in David E. Kelley's Amazon series Goliath opposite Billy Bob Thornton and Willian Hurt, which premieres October 14. Other upcoming films include Lakeshore/Lionsgate's Ewan McGregor-directed American Pastoral, due in theaters October 21; Bruce McDonald's TIFF film Weirdos; and Small Crimes opposite Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Jacki Weaver. She's repped by CAA, Red Management and Circle of Confusion
Multi-hyphenate July's most recent book is the novel The First Bad Man. Best known for writing, directing and starring in The Future and Me And You And Everyone We Know, she's currently working on two art projects set to debut in London in 2017, as well as her next screenplay. She's repped by UTA.
Howard is a freshman at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Decker is repped by Paradigm and Gary Unger at Exile Entertainment.
