Responding to reports that they blocked the Saskatchewan Roughriders from adding controversial pass rusher Greg Hardy to their negotiation list, the CFL said decisions on whether to pursue players is ultimately up to the individual teams.

TSN's Gary Lawless went on to report that while the league did discuss the matter with the Roughriders, it was ultimately Saskatchewan's decision not to place Hardy on their negotiation list back in May.

Hardy missed 19 games between 2014-2015, either suspended or on the Commissioner's Exempt list for a domestic violence incident. While he played the final 12 games of last year with the Dallas Cowboys, Hardy has been unable to secure a job in the NFL for the upcoming season.
