Two weeks ahead of its Season 2 premiere, Pop has picked up a third season of the Canadian scripted comedy Schitt's Creek. The renewal comes on the heels of its Season 3 pickup in Canada.
Co-created and written by father-son team Eugene and Daniel Levy, who also star in the series, Schitt's Creek is a character-driven, fish-out-of-water comedy that follows the once-wealthy Rose family – played by Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Daniel Levy and Annie Murphy – who suddenly find themselves broke and living in Schitt's Creek, a small, depressing town they once bought as a joke. The show's entire ensemble cast, also including Chris Elliott, Emily Hampshire and Jennifer Robertson, will return for Season 3.
The series was the most-watched Pop original series in 2015 among viewers and delivered more younger viewers (adults 18-34) than any other original program on the network, according to Pop.!
Schitt's Creek is commissioned by CBC, produced by Not a Real Company Productions Inc. and created by Eugene and Daniel Levy. They also executive produce with Andrew Barnsley, Kevin White, Fred Levy and Ben Feigin. The series is distributed internationally by ITV Studios Global Entertainment.
Season 2 premieres at 8 PM Wednesday, March 16, on Pop.
