LIGHTNING (37-22-4) at SENATORS (30-27-7)
TV: 7:30 p.m. ET; SUN, RDS, TSN5, NHL.TV
Season series: The Tampa Bay Lightning have taken two of three against the Ottawa Senators with the home team winning each game. Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov scored twice and goalie Ben Bishop made 30 saves in a 4-1 win on Dec. 10. Lightning captain Steven Stamkos scored twice in a 5-2 win on Dec. 20. Senators forward Mark Stone had two goals and one assist in a 5-1 win on Feb. 8.
Lightning team scope: Tampa Bay looks to win its eighth in a row and complete a sweep of its four-game road trip. Defenseman Andrej Sustr won't play after coach Jon Cooper told the Lightning website he "jammed something" Monday in a 2-1 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs; the injury was not believed to be serious. Forward Brian Boyle practiced as a defenseman Wednesday in Sustr's absence. Bishop is the probable starter after Andrei Vasilevskiy made 32 saves Monday. "The guys have been doing really well," Bishop told the Tampa Bay Times. "We've been talking about going through a stretch where we were giving up too many chances. The last few games, we've really dialed that down and are trying to take pride in that. I can tell in the last few games, there aren't as many two-on-ones and breakaways. We've been talking about it the last couple weeks, so it's kind of come full circle, and we've got to keep up with it."
Senators team scope: Goalie Craig Anderson is day-to-day after leaving a 4-3 shootout loss to the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday with a lower-body injury. Veteran center Scott Gomez signed a prorated one-year contract Wednesday, providing Ottawa with help down the middle after forward Kyle Turris was sidelined indefinitely with a high ankle sprain. Gomez had one goal and eight points in 21 games earlier this season for the St. Louis Blues and he performed well on an American Hockey League contract with Hershey, scoring 24 points in 18 games before exercising his release Tuesday. Forward Clarke MacArthur was not cleared to play as previously hoped. MacArthur has been limited to four games back in October because of a concussion. "(Doctors) assured me that I'll be able to play this year at some point, but they want to see me symptom-free for a couple more weeks," MacArthur told the Senators website.
