CANADIENS (30-28-6) at KINGS (37-21-4)

TV: 10:30 p.m. ET; RDS, SNE, FS-W

Season series: Jonathan Quick made 45 saves and Drew Doughty had a goal and an assist to help the Los Angeles Kings to a 3-0 win against the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre on Dec. 17. Mike Condon made 17 saves in the loss for Montreal.

Canadiens team scope: Montreal is 0-1-1 on its four-game road trip following a 3-2 shootout loss at the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday. Alex Galchenyk scored twice for the Canadiens, who have one road win in their past eight games (1-6-1). "I'll take the energy and the game that we played," forward Max Pacioretty said. "We really liked the way we played." Goalie Ben Scrivens will likely start Thursday for the first time since Feb. 17. He hasn't won since Feb. 9.

Kings team scope: It's the first of a five-game homestand for Los Angeles and fourth at Staples Center in its past five. The Kings haven't played since Sunday when they lost 4-2 at the Anaheim Ducks. Right wing Kris Versteeg, acquired from the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday, is expected to make his Kings debut. He skated on a line with Tanner Pearson and Jeff Carter at practice Wednesday. "It's exciting," Versteeg told LA Kings Insider. "It's pretty much a perennial playoff team, a contender, and a lot of players that have done a lot of great things, so it's exciting to come in this room and be a part of the group and play with a lot of these guys that are very good players and well respected around the League." Quick is expected to start Thursday.
