GRANDE PRAIRIE, Alta. - Alberta's Chelsea Carey resumed her winning ways Wednesday at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

Carey defeated Quebec's Marie-France Larouche 6-4 in nine ends to improve to 7-1 at the Canadian women's curling championship. Alberta opened the tournament with six straight wins before losing 7-5 to Ontario's Jenn Hanna on Tuesday night.

Quebec's record dropped to 4-3.

Saskatchewan's Jolene Campbell improved to 5-3 with a 6-5 victory over Northern Ontario's Krista McCarville. McCarville's record stands at 5-2.

In other action, Nova Scotia edged New Brunswick 8-7 while Newfoundland and Labrador defeated B.C. 10-7.
