The Indianapolis Colts like what they saw from Canadian guard Ben Heenan the last few months and re-signed him to a futures deal for 2016, according to TSN Football reporter Farhan Lalji.

The 23-year-old native of Regina signed a three-year contract with the Colts last February after starting his pro career with the Roughriders in 2012. The Colts cut Heenan before the season started due to an injury, but brought him back to their practice squad in early November.

Saskatchewan took Heenan with the first overall pick of the 2012 CFL Draft and won a Grey Cup with the organization the following year.
