The Toronto Maple Leafs recalled goaltender Antoine Bibeau from the Toronto Marlies (AHL) on an emergency basis Tuesday.
The 21-year-old Victoriaville, Que., native has burst out to a 5-1-0 record with a 2.17 goals against average and a .908 save percentage this season with the Marlies.
Toronto's No. 1 goalie, Jonathan Bernier, was supposed to start Monday's game versus the Dallas Stars but was replaced by James Reimer, who backstopped the club to its second win of the season.
Bernier, head coach Mike Babcock said, "got bumped" in Saturday's loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins but was healthy enough to back up Monday.
Bibeau has played in 38 games with the Marlies since he was picked by the Maple Leafs in the sixth round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, posting a 20-11-5 record with a 2.53 goals against average, a .913 save percentage and four shutouts.
He has yet to make his National Hockey League debut.
The Maple Leafs host the Winnipeg Jets at Air Canada Centre on Wednesday night.
