{allcanada} OHL: Studnicka hat trick lifts 67's over Bulldogs

 

OTTAWA - Sam Studnicka had a hat trick as the Ottawa 67's downed the Hamilton Bulldogs 5-1 on Friday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Travis Barron and Evan de Haan also scored for the 67's (1-3-0), who snapped a three-game losing skid.

Mitchell Mendonca had the lone goal for Hamilton (1-2-0).

Leo Lazarev stopped 22 shots for the win in net. Connor Hicks turned away 34 shots in goal for the Bulldogs.

Ottawa converted once on nine power plays while Hamilton was 0 for 4.

COLTS 4 ICEDOGS 1

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — Brandon Prophet, Kevin Labanc and Justin Scott all had a goal and assist as Barrie got past the IceDogs.

Cordell James rounded out the attack for the Colts (3-1-0) while Julius Nattinen tacked on two assists.

Anthony DiFruscia opened the third with a power-play goal for Niagara (1-3-0).

BATTALION 5 STING 4

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Zach Bratina struck twice as the Battalion edged Sarnia.

Brett McKenzie added a goal and two assists for North Bay (1-3-0). Riley Bruce and Zach Poirier also scored.

Alex Black, Anthony Salinitri, Patrick White and Nikita Korostelev found the back of the net for the Sting (2-2-0).

RANGERS 4 WOLVES 2

SUDBURY, Ont. — Adam Mascherin and Ryan MacInnis had a goal and assist each as Kitchener doubled up the Wolves.

Dylan Di Perna and Gustaf Franzen also chipped in for the Rangers (2-0-1).

Pavel Jenys and David Levin scored in the second period for Sudbury (1-2-0).

GREYHOUNDS 8 STORM 4

GUELPH, Ont. — Boris Katchouk had two goals and an assist as Sault Ste. Marie routed the Storm.

Colton White, Zachary Senyshyn, Bobby MacIntyre, Gabe Guetler, Gustav Bouramman and Jack Kopacka supplied the rest of the offence for the Greyhounds (2-0-1).

James McEwan struck twice for Guelph (0-2-1), with Vladislav Barulin and Luke Burghardt adding the others.

SPITFIRES 6 KNIGHTS 5 (OT)

LONDON, Ont. — Logan Brown scored 17 seconds into overtime as Windsor slipped past the Knights.

Gabriel Vilardi had a pair of goals in regulation for the Spitfires (3-0-1). Hayden McCool, Mikhail Sergachev and Jalen Chatfield rounded out the attack.

Aaron Berisha struck twice and Christian Dvorak had a goal and three assists for London (1-0-2). Brandon Crawley and Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Mitchell Marner also scored.

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Spencer Watson scored twice to lead Kingston past the Steelheads.

Ryan Cranford also found the back of the net for the Frontenacs (2-0-2).

Owen Tippett chipped in with a second-period goal for Mississauga (2-1-1).

OSHAWA, Ont. — Jeremy Brodeur stopped all 14 shots he faced as the Generals blanked Peterborough.

Matt Mistele, Joe Manchurek and Anthony Cirelli scored for Oshawa (3-1-0).

Matthew Mancina turned away 27 shots in net for the Petes (2-2-0).
