Season series: The Winnipeg Jets won two of three games against the Los Angeles Kings in 2014-15. Winnipeg captain Andrew Ladd had two goals in a 5-2 win at MTS Centre on March 1, the most recent game. Los Angeles forward Jeff Carter scored twice in the loss.

Kings team scope: Los Angeles will attempt to win its sixth consecutive game when it concludes a two-game Canadian road trip. Injured forward Dwight King (foot) and defenseman Matt Greene (upper body) remain out. Coach Darryl Sutter has not named his starting goaltender. Jonathan Quick went 2-0-0 and made 66 saves on 68 shots last week, including a 26-save performance in a 3-2 victory at the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday, and was named the NHL's Third Star for Oct. 19-25. The Kings practiced in Edmonton on Monday before traveling to Winnipeg. Los Angeles will play six of its next eight games at home, starting Saturday against the Nashville Predators.

Jets team scope: Coach Paul Maurice has not named a starting goaltender for Tuesday, when Winnipeg will play the fifth of its six-game homestand. No changes are expected in the lineup. Rookie forward Nikolaj Ehlers has three goals in eight games on the third line, but Maurice plans to keep his forward groups in place for now. "They need some time to play together," Maurice told the Jets website. "I'll move them around when we get a better feel for what we have." Blake Wheeler has a career-high eight-game point streak (four goals, seven assists). Ladd will play his 700th NHL game. The Jets host the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday to conclude the homestand.
