{allcanada} Canada loses in Pan Am women’s team squash final

TORONTO — The Canadian women's squash team settled for silver at the Pan Am Games on Friday evening at Exhibition Centre.

The United States won the first two matches in the best-of-three final to take the gold.

Olivia Blatchford opened with an 11-4, 12-10, 11-8 victory over Hollie Naughton of Mississauga, Ont.

Amanda Sobhy secured the team victory with an 11-3, 11-2, 11-8 win over Samantha Cornett of Deep River, Ont.

Nikole Todd of Regina was scheduled to play Natalie Grainger in the dead rubber. Since the overall result has been decided, it will be a best-of-three match instead of the usual best-of-five games.

Canada was to face Mexico in the men's team final later Friday.
