USA TODAY Sports rates the most desirable vacancies for those two and other top candidates:
1. Edmonton Oilers

But the defense is inferior, and the goaltending outlook is unclear, which is being charitable. New general manager Peter Chiarelli is an aggressive horse trader. You can bet he will have a proven goalie in place by training camp.
The Oilers seem to be targeting McLellan as the man they want to lead the McDavid generation.
