TORONTO - Toronto FC players and MLSE executives took part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday ahead of Sunday's opening of the renovated BMO Field.

Designated players Michael Bradley, Jozy Altidore and Sebastian Giovinco as well as Canadian Ashtone Morgan took part in the ceremony under bright sunshine.

Toronto, which played its first eight games on the road, hosts the Houston Dynamo in MLS play Sunday. Maple Leaf Sport & Entertainment expects a sellout of almost 31,000.

Workers continued to put final touches on the stadium during the festivities.

Phase 1 of the $120-million renovation involved adding an upper tier to the East Stand. Phase 2, to start at the end of the season, will see a roof installed around three sides of the lakefront stadium.
