According to reports and confirmed by Sportsnet's Mark Spector, highly-touted NCAA goaltender Matt O'Connor will sign with an NHL team within the next 48 hours.
Spector reported last week that the 23-year-old netminder was deciding between four teams — the Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators, and Vancouver Canucks.
O'Connor led the Boston University Terriers to the 2015 NCAA Championship Game, losing 4-3 to Providence. In 35 regular season appearances, he registered a 25-4-4 record with a .927 save percentage and a 2.18 goals-against average .
The Toronto, Ont., native was not selected in the 2010 NHL Draft, when he was first eligible.
