{allcanada} Ryan Reynolds Meets Vancouver Mayor on Deadpool Set and Makes Some Interesting Requests

Ryan Reynolds has big plans for Vancouver – and they may just involve a giant water slide.

The actor, who's in his Canadian hometown filming the latest Marvel comic adaptation Deadpool, posed for photos with Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson when he stopped by the set for the last day of filming on Friday.

"It's not every day you get to ask the Mayor about building a gigantic water slide from Whistler to Vancouver," the star wrote in response to a tweet from the Mayor's office about the visit on Friday.

Robertson continued the exchange by jokingly responding "@VancityReynolds we can discuss more when you come by for a #Beachcombers dvd binge @richardzussman." The tweet was referencing Reynolds's response to a CBC reporter's interview request last Sunday, to which he wrote "Put Beachcombers back on the air and I'll call." The Beachcombers was a Canadian TV dramedy that ran on CBC from 1972 to 1990.

Reynolds, 38, plays fictional anti-hero Wade Wilson, or Deadpool, for the 2016 film. The actor was shooting action scenes on the city's Georgia Viaduct (with the help of a stunt double) for the past two weeks.

The father to baby girl James with wife Blake Lively, was also the victim of a hit-and-run during his time in Vancouver. The actor's publicist told PEOPLE he was struck by a paparazzo who was driving a car through an underground parking garage.

A 52-year-old photographer was later arrested and charged with intimidation after a confrontation with Reynolds in the Vancouver hotel parking garage. Reynolds suffered minor injuries, and was able to complete filming for Deadpool on time.
