The Toronto Blue Jays placed catcher Dioner Navarro on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April. 22, with a strained left hamstring on Thursday.

Toronto called up catcher Josh Thole from the Buffalo Bisons to help fill the void behind the plate.

Navarro, 31, is batting .267 with four runs batted in over eight games this season, his second with the Jays.
