Pat Quinn Way is coming to downtown Vancouver.

Vancouver city council voted unanimously on Wednesday to rename the 700-block of Abbott Street that runs between Expo Boulevard and Pacific Bouelvard as Pat Quinn Way to tribute the late NHL coach.

Quinn, who spent time with the Canucks' franchise as player, coach, and general manager, died in November after a lengthy illness.

The Canucks honoured Quinn on Nov. 25 with an emotional pre-game ceremony. A moment of silence was held for Quinn followed by a video tribute.

Vancouver will further honour Quinn in a full ceremony on Mar. 17, St. Patrick's Day, when the Canucks host the Philadelphia Flyers.

He was inducted into the franchise's Ring of Honour at Rogers Arena this past April.
