CITY in Canada will televise "Rogers Hometown Hockey" on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET, prior to the game between the Calgary Flames and Ottawa Senators. The show will also air on NHL Network in the U.S. The location this week is Thompson, Manitoba, and the half-hour program will celebrate the city's iconic hockey story.

Among the features airing on the pregame show:

*Born in Riverton, Manitoba, the odds of Reggie Leach making it to the NHL, let alone reaching the pinnacle of the sport, were long to say the least. Being the youngest of 13 kids growing up, Leach didn't have much, but his skill on the ice spoke for itself.

*Doug Korman's day job is at the local Nickel Mine. But the rest of the time, he is coaching and making a difference in the lives of his players. However, coaching a team in Thompson doesn't mean playing at a competitor's rink just a few miles away. Opposing teams are upwards of an eight-hour drive away. Doug has been the coach of the Norman North Stars Midget AAA Team for so long … he's now coaching kids of players he used to coach.

*Rarely does an NHL player play in a world so different than the one they grew up in. New Jersey Devils forward Jordin Tootoo has gone from the glow of the Northern Lights in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, to the bright lights of the New York City area, but he hasn't forgotten where it all began.

*Bob Clarke, Reflections of growing up in Flin Flon and Northern Manitoba.
