Eric Taylor wasn't out of work for long.

Cut by the BC Lions earlier this week, the seven-year CFL veteran signed with the Calgary Stampeders Friday.

Taylor had 30 tackles and one sack last year for the Lions. The 33-year-old spent the last four years with the Lions but has also played with the Edmonton Eskimos and Toronto Argonauts.

"Eric has been very good defensive tackle in this league over the years and I know he's looking to show that he still has more to give," Stampeders head coach and GM John Hufnagel said in a team release. "I look forward to seeing him compete at training camp."

"I'm grateful for the new start," Taylor said in the team release. "I'm joining a very good team and a very good defence and I'm looking forward to getting on that road to try and reach the Grey Cup."
