Season series: The Calgary Flames and Ottawa Senators haven't played against each other for nearly four months. Flames forward Lance Bouma had an assist and the insurance goal in Calgary's victory at Scotiabank Saddledome in mid-November.

Flames team scope: Calgary is 4-2-0 as it winds up a seven-game road trip that has seen captain Mark Giordano go down with a season-ending injury, only to have the Flames win three of four games without him. That includes a 5-2 victory against the Detroit Red Wings on Friday in which Calgary overcame a 2-0 deficit. The Flames, who won 4-3 in a shootout against the Boston Bruins on Thursday, are 6-1-1 in the second half of back-to-backs. "We're all young guys in this room. We're in good shape. We just work hard," forward Jiri Hudler, who scored twice against his former team to lead the comeback, told the Flames website. The Flames play seven of their next eight games at home.

Senators team scope: The play of 27-year-old first-year goaltender Andrew Hammond has carried the Senators back into the race for a wild-card berth. But Hammond, who is 7-0-1 in his first eight starts and hasn't allowed more than two goals in any of those games, might get the day off. Coach Dave Cameron said after practice Saturday that with Ottawa's schedule about to get more hectic, he may start Craig Anderson, who's been out since Jan. 21 with a bruised hand, against the Flames. "(Anderson's) got to play here. (Hammond) has been exceptional. Everybody knows that," Cameron said, according to the Ottawa Citizen. "The results have been good, but we need another goalie here based on schedule."
