Boston will face the Montreal Stars in the Clarkson Cup final on Saturday after Montreal beat the Calgary Inferno 2-0 later Thursday. The Blades swept the best-of-three playoff series with the defending Clarkson Cup champion Furies after posting a 3-0 win in Wednesday's opener. Janine Weber had two goals for Boston, while Brianna Decker, who had a natural hat trick in Wednesday's win, and Casey Pickett also scored. Megan Bozek, Tessa Bonhomme and Tanis Lamoureux had Toronto's goals. Genevieve Lacasse stopped 18 shots for Boston. Sami Jo Small came in for the third period and stopped 14 of the 15 shots she faced. Knight scored two of her three goals in the first period, but Toronto answered both times and the teams were tied 2-2 after 20 minutes. Boston busted the game open in the second period with four straight even-strength goals. Knight's third of the game with 15 seconds left in the period gave Boston a 6-2 lead heading into the second intermission. Decker and Lamoureux traded goals in the third period. Boston was 3 for 6 on the power play, while Toronto was 2 for 8. In the second game of the day, Charline Labonte stopped all 32 shots she faced as Montreal blanked Calgary.
