TSN's signature curling event - the Pinty's All-Star Curling Skins Game - kicks off tonight with a clash between growing rivals Rachel Homan and Val Sweeting.

You can watch all the action from beautiful Banff, AB starting at 8pm et/5pm pt on TSN1, TSN4 and TSN5.

The three-day event will feature the addition of women's competition for the first time since 2003.

The rinks of Homan, 25, and Sweeting, 27, has had a handful of competitive, high stakes matchups over the past two seasons.

Homan edged a surprising Sweeting squad in the 2014 Scotties Tournament of Hearts finals, grabbing her second straight national championship. Then in the off-season, Joanne Courtney, Sweeting's second last year and one of the best sweepers in the game, joined Homan's Ottawa rink after Alison Kreviazuk moved to Sweden.

However, the loss of Courtney hasn't halted the Edmonton rink as Lori Olson-Johns came in and the team has won two highly touted tournaments in the Masters of Curling and Canada Cup, where they beat Homan, 6-3 in the final. Sweeting also edged Homan, 4-3 in the semifinals of the Masters.

Homan has appeared in seven tournaments on the World Curling Tour this year, but has yet to win and sits third on the Money List.

The winner of this match will face the winner of an all-Winnipeg matchup between Olympic champion Jennifer Jones and Chelsea Carey, who square off Saturday at 4pm et/1pm pt.

On the men's side, Kevin Koe plays John Morris in Saturday's first semifinal at 11am et/8am pt while Olympic champion Brad Jacobs faces red-hot Mike McEwen at 9pm et/6pm pt.

McEwen was a late replacement after Glenn Howard decided to stay back in Ontario and play in a provincial qualifier for the Tankard.
