WINNIPEG – The St. Louis Blues may have an unlikely addition to their injury list when they finish their four-game road trip against the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Sunday that defenseman Jay Bouwmeester could miss the game with a lower-body injury that he sustained in a 3-2 road win against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday. If Bouwmeester does not dress against Winnipeg, his streak of 737 consecutive games played would end. The newspaper also added that defenseman Chris Butler would replace Bouwmeester in the lineup.

Blues coach Ken Hitchcock told the Blues website on Saturday that Bouwmeester's status would be evaluated again Sunday. Butler, who signed with the Blues this past summer, has not played this season.

St. Louis defenseman Barret Jackman will play his 744th game with the Blues and tie Brett Hull for third on the franchise's all-time list.

Hitchcock has been alternating starts for goaltenders Jake Allen and Brian Elliott. Allen is the likely starter against Winnipeg. In his most recent start, Allen allowed four goals on 30 shots in a 4-1 loss against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday.

It is expected that the Jets will start goaltender Ondrej Pavelec. The Jets begin a three-game road trip Tuesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

After a day off Friday, the Jets practiced Saturday as they prepare to end their three-game homestand. Jets coach Paul Maurice rested defenseman Toby Enstrom on Saturday, but Enstrom will dress Sunday.

The teams did not skate Sunday.
