Calgary Flames rookie Sam Bennett will miss Saturday's game against the Winnipeg Jets as he receives attention for some upper-body injuries in Calgary.

Head coach Bob Hartley said Bennett has some nagging injuries and didn't want to tell coaches how much pain he was in. Hartley added the 18-year-old is getting checked by doctors and the team should know more by Tuesday.

"The first thing that comes to mind is why didn't you say anything," Hartley said. "But at the same time, here is a young man we drafted him because of his guts, because of his talent, and he wants to be on the ice and wants to play for us."

Bennett was drafted fourth overall by the Flames this season.
