Is the original Captain Kirk headed back to "Star Trek"? After previously denying he would have any involvement in the third film in the reboot of the "Star Trek" series, the original Captain Kirk WIlliam Shatner appears to have changed his tune.

While making an appearance at Wizard World Nashville Comic Con, Shatner admitted to Trek Movie J.J. Abrams has been in touch with him about the upcoming movie. However the actor admits he has trouble imagining a scenario where he would fit in saying, "How do you get me fifty years later into the movie? I know it's science fiction, but even I couldn't come up with an idea."

Fans have long been obsessed with the idea of Shatner's Kirk reuniting with Leonard Nimoy's Spock again on-screen and now it looks like their wish may come true.

"Star Trek 3" is expecting to hit theaters in 2016.
